The Environmental pollution essay

Essay topics environment

Environmental pollution is an unpleasant change in the physical, chemical, or biological characters of the surroundings which are harmful to organisms present on the earth.

A human being cannot survive without the surrounding components like plants, water, sunlight, etc., of the biosphere, organisms and factors that are interdependent around. All kind of species that are existing in which humans alone has set out in conflict with nature. Human interference with nature makes unbalance life for the other organisms. Humans throw so much waste such as nuclear waste, chemical waste, etc and also humans are responsible for deforestation. Because of this, there is a flood, cyclone, earthquakes, etc. happening on the earth and the ever-increasing volume of carbon dioxide, greenhouse gases in the atmosphere have resulted in the greatest ecological crisis known to mankind.

Since the beginning era of the industrial revolution Human's interference with the ecosystem has increased both in volume and intensity. In the ecosystem, all species of life such as plants and animals are interlinked with one another. Their very existence is interdependent. Any involvement with any of the living organisms will have a far-reaching disastrous effect on others. Human has massively interceded in the environment. The magnitude of the damage caused in the process has been so much tremendous that the situation has passed beyond repair.

The Human went on cutting and removing forests for the purposes of cultivation and other needs of their own. He built huge irrigation supply systems to assure a continuous supply of water for his crops. There was a rewarding boom, but the damage caused by this has made some species go extinct. Soil erosion has been the worst result of it all. Excessive consumption of groundwater leads to salinity. It converts fertile land into wasteland.

Humans consume natural resources such as coal, oil, natural gases etc. and also other resources in day to day life soon going to exhaust/finish within a few centuries. The Daily waste products such as garbage and also some untreated products results in ecological imbalance. The vehicle produces so much air pollution which is harmful to every living organism to breathe. Because of this climate change has become a big issue for the world.

The Radioactivity resulting from the explosions of nuclear weapons in the atmosphere has been a big source of contamination of the Earth. The waste from nuclear tests contaminates every part of the earth's surface and all its inhabitants. Chemical waste discharged by our factories run into the rivers, lakes. This causes the low quality of crops which have a very little amount of nutrients and minerals.

Human uses Air conditioners, refrigerators contain vigorous greenhouse gases known as Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) results in climate change. These greenhouse gases affect the ozone layer. This causes the spread of various diseases. The excessive use of insecticides and pesticides results in the concentration of harmful chemicals in plant and animal food. This affects the health of human beings and other living organisms.

The rapidly growing human population, the sharp decline in the animal population, the destruction of forests, the fast depletion of natural resources have been causing an imbalance of ecosystems in the biosphere. Therefore it becomes necessary to prevent environmental pollution through legislation. We should understand the necessity and importance of protecting our environment and become more familiar with it. We should use it in such a way that we should not only protect it but also try to maintain the balance between the various elements of the environment.
